Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a qualified Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist in Somerville, NJ.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound school.
  • CPR certification; maternal-fetal medicine experience required.
  • Ability to perform all trimesters, from first to third.
  • Nuchal Translucency certification or eligibility required.

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • ARDMS certification required.
  • CPR certification required.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day shift.
  • Per diem schedule.

Essential Functions:

  • Review requisitions to ensure proper exams are ordered and patient preparation is communicated to nursing staff.
  • Maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Foster positive relationships between radiologists and sonographers.
  • Assist lead technologist and supervisor with daily operations.
  • Ensure proper documentation of ultrasound exams, including tracking and dictation in a timely manner.
  • Initiate service calls and documentations.
  • Train colleagues and students on complex or new techniques.
  • Age-specific competency: apply knowledge of growth and development across lifespan, providing appropriate care for infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Assess patient data and interpret information to meet age-specific health needs.
  • Comply with standards set by hospital, state, and federal agencies.
  • Assist in reviewing co-worker sonograms for adherence to departmental policies, providing educational feedback on positives and areas for improvement.
