Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a dedicated ultrasound technologist for the Atrium Health Harrisburg Free-Standing Emergency Department in Charlotte, NC. The role prioritizes ultrasound exams, collaborates with nursing, radiology staff, and physicians, and delivers patient-centered imaging care in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires completion of an accredited ultrasound program, ARDMS/AB or OB/GYN certification, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a comprehensive medical diagnostic ultrasound program.
• 2 years of prior ultrasound experience (preferred).
• Certified by ARDMS or ARRT in Abdomen (AB) or OB/GYN; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and coordinate ultrasound exams with nursing units, radiologists and referring physicians.
• Perform ultrasound exams in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
• Provide adequate patient care related to the exam requested.
• Operate ultrasound and associated equipment proficiently.
• Report equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor/engineer.
• Enter and charge exams using the Radiology computer system.
• Maintain a neat, stocked work area and adhere to departmental rules and professional standards.
