Job summary

John Muir Health in Walnut Creek, CA seeks an experienced Sonographer to prepare patients for procedures and perform diagnostic imaging with accuracy and timeliness. You will follow the department procedure manual under a licensed independent practitioner order for radiologic interpretation.

Requirements include 3+ years of medical imaging experience, ARDMS RDMS with Abdomen/OB-GYN and RVT licenses, and BLS. Availability for night shifts, weekends, and on-call may be needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Sonography Program preferred.
• 3+ years experience as a registered sonographer preferred.
• BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Required.
• ARDMS credentials: RDMS with Abdomen and OB/GYN, and RVT license currently.
• BR Breast Certification - required at sites performing Diagnostic Mammography if performing diagnostic breast ultrasound; must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• OB/GYN - must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• RVT - must be obtained within 90 days of hire, with extension possible for new graduates (14 months).

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for procedures and assumes responsibility for patient needs during procedures.
• Performs procedures with accuracy and thoroughness in a timely manner, adhering to department protocols.
• Assists with night shift, PM and Days; strong weekend availability; able to help with call.
