Qualifications

• Successful completion of training in Ultrasonography or Radiologic Technology.
• Must hold and maintain ARDMS or ARRT certifications.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Ultrasound Technologist (sonographer) performs diagnostic procedures using knowledge of anatomy, physiology, physics, and instrumentation to provide technical information to physicians. Responsibilities include performing ultrasound procedures (abdominal, OB/GYN, venous Doppler, small parts, pediatrics, invasive exams), maintaining supplies and equipment, and participating in quality control.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Certifications

• Education: Successful completion of training in Ultrasonography, Radiologic Technology, or Vascular Technology, or an Associate's degree or higher.
• Experience: None required; 2 years preferred in a hospital or diagnostic setting.
• Licenses/Certifications: Must hold and maintain ARDMS or ARRT certifications as specified.

Essential Job Functions

• Maintain skills and knowledge of current ultrasound techniques and equipment.
• Assist physicians in ultrasound-guided biopsies and invasive procedures.
• Provide care to patients across all age groups.
• Manage radiology computer system tasks accurately.
• Follow safety, infection control, and sterile techniques diligently.

• Handle radiopharmaceuticals and contrast agents as appropriate.
• Support mission and demonstrate excellent customer service.
• Adhere to safety policies and report unsafe conditions.
• Uphold ethical standards and participate in training of new staff.
