Job summary

Texas Health Resources seeks an Ultrasound Technologist for the Plano facility. This PRN position in Radiology entails rotating shifts and responsibilities across patient imaging, with emphasis on high-quality care and technical proficiency.

You will explain procedures to patients, perform complex exams, and assist Radiologists using proper aseptic technique. ARRT/ARDMS and BCLS are required upon hire.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Graduate of an AMA accredited school of Ultrasound Technology preferred.
• Associates degree preferred.
• 2 years of clinical experience in hospital radiology preferred.
• ARRT and/or ARDMS certifications required upon hire.
• BCLS certification prior to providing independent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patient or guardian prior to and during exam.
• Perform complex procedures with age-related criteria and development considerations.
• Adjust ultrasound parameters for age-related factors.
• Assist Radiologist with complex procedures using aseptic technique.
• Process and manipulate images, analyze quality, troubleshoot and suggest differential diagnoses.
• Utilize PACS, Ambra and HIS/RIS in workflow.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure CDs/prints are prepared as needed.

Skills

2 years hospital radiology experience

Education

HS Diploma or Equivalent

AMA-accredited Ultrasound Tech program

Associates degree preferred

ARRT + another modality required

ARDMS with 2 certifications required

BCLS certification required
