Job summary

Northwest Florida Community Hospital is seeking an ultrasound technician to operate sonographic scanners and capture 2D ultrasonic recordings for diagnosis and organ study. The role may span obstetric, gynecological, neurological, breast, heart, or abdominal imaging, and include assisting radiologists with vascular ultrasound and biopsies.

The candidate should have strong anatomy knowledge, excellent patient service, and the ability to explain procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in operating sonographic scanners to capture 2D ultrasonic recordings.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and pathology; excellent patient service.

Responsibilities

• Explain the ultrasound procedure to patients and provide support.
• Apply ultrasound gel and position patient for imaging.
• Program and adjust scanner for specific procedures and capture images from multiple angles.
• Select still images for physician review and diagnostic purposes.
• Evaluate image quality and assist physicians in diagnosis.
• Present images and preliminary findings to physicians.
• Maintain patient records and notes for ultrasound procedures.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and sterilize procedure rooms.
• Assist radiologists with vascular procedures and biopsies.
