Qualifications

  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification required.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$35.35 - $54.79 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Ultrasound Technologist
  • Location: Swedish Hospital, Chicago
  • Full Time - 40 hours/week
  • Hours: Wednesday-Friday, 7:30am -4:00pm, Saturday 7:00am-3:30pm
  • On call & 1 holiday a year
  • Required Travel: No


A Brief Overview:
Performs all diagnostic ultrasound and vascular examinations for interpretation by a radiologist

What you will do:

  • Performs ultrasound exams.
  • Performs vascular exams.
  • Related paperwork.
  • Explanation of exams.
  • Assists radiologist/physician with all biopsies, specialized ultrasound and vascular exams.
  • Stocking of linens and supplies as needed.
  • Cleans and maintains room/equipment.
  • Understands the utilization of PACS.
  • Promotes timely workflow.
  • Adheres to all OSHA and Infection Control policies.
  • The duties listed may not be all inclusive.
  • Assists in the transporting of acutely ill patients as needed.
  • Assists with clerical duties (phone, scheduling, computer entry, etc.).
  • Helps insure safe and clean working environment for patients and co-workers

What you will need:

  • High School Required, plus a two-year AMA approved Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program
  • Must have the ability to handle ultrasound and vascular equipment and properly position patients. Must use good judgment in determining alternate scanning methods when standard imaging is impossible.
  • Must have the ability to practice good patient care without constant supervision.
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Required
