Henry Ford Jackson Hospital in Michigan seeks an Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound studies under a Radiologist's supervision, ensuring accurate imaging and patient safety. The candidate will determine imaging techniques and patient positioning per protocol.
Required ARDMS registration or eligibility, with completion of SPI, Abdomen, and OB/GYN ARDMS within 12 months of hire, plus ongoing CME and BCLS certification.
Under the direction of a Radiologist, specializes in the performance of diagnostic ultrasound procedures to aid in the evaluation of pathological entities as prescribed by a physician. Performs related functions according to department protocols. Utilizes independent judgment in determining appropriate imaging techniques, patient positioning, and safety practices.
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
Must be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or eligible candidate to sit for an ARDMS examination.
The ARDMS defines ‘candidate’ as an applicant who has met the prerequisites required to sit for an ARDMS examination.
If eligible candidate, successful completion of SPI, Abdomen, and OB/GYN ARDMS examinations required within 12 months of date of hire.
Failure to obtain registry within the designated timeframe will result in termination of the Ultrasound Technologist position.
Must maintain required hours of continued medical education.
Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS).
