University Hospital in Newark, NJ is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to provide ultrasound services for patients from newborn to maturity, aligned with department guidelines and professional standards.
Responsibilities include patient positioning, image acquisition, consent handling, and ensuring all studies are completed in RIS and verified in PACS. The role requires ARDMS certification, BLS/CPR, annual fit testing, and graduation from an approved ultrasound program.
The primary purpose of the Ultrasound Technologist is to provide health care services for patients of the University Hospital/ACC through the applications of non-ionizing radiation (in the form of ultrasound). The technologist performs ultrasound procedures for the interpretation of a licensed practitioner. The patient population ranges from newborn to maturity. Exercises professional judgment throughout the performance of his/her duties and maintains a demeanor that supports the values and mission of the department, ensuring that all interaction with patients, physicians, nurses, administrators, and other members of the hospital staff are professional and in accordance with the established guidelines of the institution.

In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, the salary range for this position is TT/4100: $49.76 - $50.26 - $51.77 per hour. University Hospital considers multiple factors when determining compensation, including (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant work experience, education and training, key skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational needs. The expected salary range for this position is in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
