Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England is seeking a Sonographer to perform ultrasound exams and operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment in our Waterbury facility. The role emphasizes high-quality patient care, critical thinking, and collaboration with the Radiology team.

Qualified candidates will have completed a certified ultrasound program, an associates degree, and RDMS certification within one year of hire. Two years of experience or recent graduates eligible for boards are required.

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of Certified Ultrasound program; Associates Degree.
• Licensure: RDMS Certification within one year of hire.
• Experience: Two years working in a Sonographer capacity required or a student that has graduated from an approved Ultrasound program and is eligible to take their boards.

Responsibilities

• Performs Ultrasound exams using diagnostic ultrasound equipment.
• Demonstrates knowledge of radiographic imaging principles, patient monitoring, and arrhythmia recognition.
• Contributes to efficient operations of the Radiology department and supports quality patient care during high-stress, high-risk procedures.

Position Purpose

This individual is responsible for performing Ultrasound exams and utilizing diagnostic ultrasound equipment.

What you will do

• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of radiographic imaging, patient physiologic monitoring, and cardiac arrhythmia recognition.
• Contribute to efficient operations of the SMH Radiology department, ensuring the quality and continuity of patient care.
• The ideal candidate will display a drive to provide patient-centered experiences through scholarly scientific inquiry, compassion for the human spirit and mind, advocacy and education for the patient and families, and collaboration with all those who touch our patients. The candidate for this critical role also uses critical thinking skills to resolvecomplex procedural situations & ability to handle emergency high stress situations during high-risk procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Completion of Certified Ultrasound program; Associates Degree. Abdomen certification (ABD) recommended.
• Licensure: RDMS Certification within one year of hire.
