Company Description

MEDICAL ASSOCIATES OF RHODE ISLAND, INC. is a healthcare company based in Bristol, Rhode Island, United States.

Role Description

This is a Full-Time or Part-Time on-site role for an Ultrasound Technologist at Medical Associates of Rhode Island. The Ultrasound Technologist will be responsible for conducting ultrasound scans independently on patients and working closely with radiologists and physicians to provide accurate and timely results.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Set up, explain, and operate ultrasound equipment for all ultrasound studies independently.
  2. Perform GENERAL and BREAST ultrasounds, including dense breast and diagnostic breast exams.
  3. Communicate effectively and ensure patient comfort during exams.
  4. Evaluate ultrasounds and determine if additional scanning is needed.
  5. Maintain confidentiality of patient images and records.
  6. Ensure ultrasound equipment and work area are clean and operational; report equipment failures.
  7. Multi-task and prioritize independently.
  8. Maintain ultrasound-specific continuing education.
  9. Communicate results efficiently to doctors and radiologists.
  10. Maintain ultrasound QA/QC within regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications:

  1. ARRT and ARDMS certifications.
  2. Breast Ultrasound Certified.
  3. Experience in diagnostic and dense breast scanning (2+ years preferred).
  4. Ability to work independently.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently.
  7. Associate's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
  8. BLS certification.
  9. General knowledge of anatomy and pathology related to ultrasound.
