Job description

Summary of Job Function: Breast Ultrasound Technologist provides patient services using diagnostic breast ultrasound equipment.

The sonographer is competent in the production and analysis of ultrasound images used by physicians for patient diagnosis and treatment.

In addition, the individual must be prepared to render quality patient care by exercising discretion and judgment in the performance of breast ultrasound services.

Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments, damaged floors, walls, ceiling tiles/unsecured areas, and medical errors.

Job Qualifications:

1. Graduate of an accredited School of Sonography.
2. 3-5 years of breast ultrasound experience required.
3. Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or ARRT Breast Sonography is beneficial, but not required.
4. Maintain required BLS.
5. Maintain at least 5 continuing education units (CEUs) of breast ultrasound topics per year and continue education as required by the certifying organization.
6. The employee will be required to backfill at all of our Jacqueline Wilentz locations which include MMC, MSC, and Colts Neck facility for Ultrasound services.
