Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC, is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to operate ultrasound equipment and create high-quality imaging under physician orders. The role emphasizes independent work, patient safety, and adherence to SOPs within the Mission Health system.

The technologist may perform both invasive and non-invasive procedures, requires BCLS within 30 days, and holds an Associate Degree or Vocational training with RDMS or ARRT-S certification. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required within 30 days of start date.
• Associate degree or vocational school graduation.
• RDMS or ARRT-S Sonography certification (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or Sonography) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasound equipment to produce quality diagnostic images under physician orders.
• Follow standard operating procedures and maintain patient safety and care quality.
• Perform invasive and non-invasive procedures as needed and assist physicians when required.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The ultrasound technologist operates ultrasound equipment to make quality images of designated portions of the body under the direct order of a physician and in accordance with standard operating procedures. Accomplishes patient care in a timely, professional, efficient, and safe manner. The ultrasound technologist must be able to think and act independently and assess emergency situations accurately. Good oral and written communication skills are required. The Generalist Ultrasound Technologist may be required to perform invasive and non-invasive procedures on a variety of patients, utilize sterile techniques and assist physicians as necessary throughout the Mission Health System. Continuing education, learned skills and experience will be utilized. This position will function without constant supervision to produce superior quality imaging studies.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Associate Degree, or Vocational School Graduate
• (RDMS) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, or (ARRT-S) Sonography
