Job summary

StrideCare in Texas is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to independently perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and operate sonographic equipment. You will review requisitions, assess patient history, and communicate findings to the interpreting physician while maintaining a patient-centered approach and high medical ethics. RVT/RVS certification is required.

Qualifications

  • Must be RVT or RVS certified.
  • Ability to perform clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures to assist in diagnosis.
  • Operate sonographic equipment independently with professional standards.
  • Analyze sonograms and relay findings to the physician.
  • Screen patients for precautions or contraindications prior to exam.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies and ensure a clean work area.
  • Interact professionally with staff and patients and coordinate care.

Description


Job Summary: The Ultrasound Technologist will independently operate sonographic equipment and perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures to assist in diagnosis or scans for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. The qualified candidate will be expected to take a patient centered approach and assure that all services are provided within professional standards and with a high level of medical ethics.


Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A


Essential Duties / Responsibilities:


  • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.

  • Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers

  • Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments

  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations

  • Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations, including venous reflux and arterial ultrasound examinations

  • Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination

  • Obtains and reviews the requisition for examination in order to be aware of information such as procedure requested, clinical history, patient condition or any other special requirements

  • Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images

  • Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings

  • Independently initiates additional ultrasound imaging procedures to facilitate optimum diagnostic results

  • Analyzes sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history, and communicates findings to the appropriate physician

  • Provides interpreting physician with an oral or written summary of technical findings

  • Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients

  • Maintains ultrasound equipment and adequate supplies

  • Other Duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:


  • Must be RVT or RVS certified.

  • Manual dexterity required for operating office equipment (e.g., computers, phones, fax machines).

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally.

  • Visual acuity is required to perform tasks involving computer screens and paper documents.

  • Ability to move around the office to access files, office machinery, and other equipment.
