Job summary

StrideCare is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to independently operate sonographic equipment and perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures for interpretation by a licensed practitioner.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, adherence to professional standards, and high medical ethics. The candidate must be RVT or RVS certified and ready to travel between Towson, Ellicott City, and Pikesville locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations and operate sonographic equipment.
• Screen patients for precautions or contraindications before exams.
• Review requisitions and patient history to tailor imaging procedures.
• Use cognitive skills to identify and adapt procedures to anatomy and pathology.
• Communicate findings to the interpreting physician with concise summaries.
• Maintain an orderly, safe workspace and properly care for ultrasound equipment.
• Travel between Towson, Ellicott City, and Pikesville locations as needed.

Job description

Job Summary:

The Ultrasound Technologist will independently operate sonographic equipment and perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures to assist in diagnosis or scans for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. The qualified candidate will be expected to take a patient centered approach and assure that all services are provided within professional standards and with a high level of medical ethics.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

• Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
• Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers
• Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments
• Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations
• Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations, including venous reflux and arterial ultrasound examinations
• Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination
• Obtains and reviews the requisition for examination in order to be aware of information such as procedure requested, clinical history, patient condition or any other special requirements
• Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images
• Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings
• Independently initiates additional ultrasound imaging procedures to facilitate optimum diagnostic results
• Analyzes sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history, and communicates findings to the appropriate physician
• Provides interpreting physician with an oral or written summary of technical findings
• Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients
• Maintains ultrasound equipment and adequate supplies
• Floats between Towson, Ellicott City, and Pikesville locations as needed for coverage
• Assists with imaging during venous procedures under the direction of a provider
• Other Duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• Must be RVT or RVS certified.
