Job summary

Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks an Ultrasound Technician, PRN, at the Franklin Street location to support inpatient, outpatient, and emergency procedures.

You will perform abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, and vascular ultrasound studies, maintain records, and provide on-call coverage as needed. Applicants should graduate from a DMS program or hold ARRT/DMS certification with BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited DMS program or ARRT/DMS certification.
• BLS within 30 days of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Positions, transfers and properly immobilizes patients as required.
• Performs diagnostic abdominal and pelvic ultrasound studies.
• Performs diagnostic vascular (carotid and extremity venous) ultrasound studies.
• Performs diagnostic obstetric ultrasound studies.
• Maintains records and statistics of ultrasound studies.
• Maintains professional skills and provides age-specific needs to patients of all ages (neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics).
• Follows safety procedures and guidelines and reports unsafe practices and conditions.
• Assists physician during invasive ultrasonographic procedures.
• Participates in peer competencies.
• Provides On Call coverage as needed.

Inpatient, outpatient, and emergency procedures. Ultrasound guidance biopsies of the breast and thyroid, paracentesis, thoracentesis/gynecological procedures and vascular ultrasound.

What we're looking for

Applicants should be graduates of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or School of Radiology. Additional requirements include:

• Graduate of an accredited DMS program or ARRT/DMS certification.
• BLS within 30 days of hire is required.
