Job summary

Centerpoint Health - Georgetown is seeking an Ultrasound Technician to join our team. The role focuses on quality ultrasound studies and patient care across the lifespan.

As part of Lifepoint Health, you will perform abdominal, OB, vascular and other exams, maintain equipment and records, and collaborate with radiologists and physicians to support accurate diagnoses. Applicants should have completed a diagnostic medical sonography program, ARRT/DMS certification, and BLS within 30 days of hire;

Qualifications

• Graduate of a diagnostic medical sonography program or school of radiology.
• One year of diagnostic medical sonography experience preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides ultrasound studies across abdomen, OB, vascular, neonatal, pelvic, breast and small parts.
• Maintains files, supplies and equipment; keeps work area clean and ready.
• Performs sonographic examinations as requested by referring physician.
• Provides age-appropriate care to patients across the lifespan.
• Engages in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

Education

Graduate of an accredited DMS program or ARRT/DMS certification

How you'll contribute

AnUltrasound Technicianwho excels in this role:

• Provides quality ultrasound studies including abdominal, OB, vascular, neonatal, pelvic, breast, and small parts exams for interpretation by the radiologist in the diagnosis of patient illness.
• Maintains appropriate files, supplies, and equipment.
• Performs sonographic examinations and procedures as requested by the referring physician.
• Provides age-appropriate care to patients across the lifespan.
• Maintains supplies and ensures a clean, orderly work area; notifies supervisor of needed items.
• Maintains and calibrates equipment to ensure accuracy and longevity.
• Acts as a consultant and educational resource for physicians and staff regarding appropriateness and accuracy of scans.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should be a graduate of a diagnostic medical sonography program or school of radiology. Additional requirements include:

Experience:One year of diagnostic medical sonography experience preferred.

License:/Certifications: Graduate of an accredited DMS program or ARRT/DMS certification; BLS required within 30 days of hire.
