Job summary

ZoomCare is seeking a Sonographer to join our team at the ZoomCare Tualatin Valley Super Clinic. The role provides diagnostic medical sonography services under physician supervision, contributing to patient care and imaging interpretation.

The ideal candidate holds an accredited degree in diagnostic sonography, possesses current BLS, and is licensed in Oregon. Demonstrated proficiency with ultrasound equipment, patient communication, and HIPAA-compliant practices is required.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience in sonography.
  • Oregon licensure (OBMI) required.
  • Registered Sonographer in Abdomen/OB-GYN or eligible.
  • Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient services per scope of practice and clinical standards.
  • Apply professional, ethical judgment for diagnostic procedures.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality (HIPAA).
  • Review patient history to ensure medical necessity.
  • Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment per safety protocols.
  • Communicate with patients effectively.
  • Acquire additional ultrasound imaging as needed.

ZoomCare is seeking a Sonographer join our team!

The Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for providing diagnostic medical sonography services and its various clinical specialties. The Sonographer activities are performed consistent with their education and training, and in accordance with facility policies and procedures and applicable professional standards. The Sonographer functions as a healthcare technician who, working under the delegated authority of the supervising physician, serves as a medical imaging professional providing clinically relevant information to assist the physician with the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

SCHEDULE AND TRAINING
  • Location: ZoomCare Tualatin Valley Super Clinic

  • Schedule : Per-Diem

  • 12 hour shifts, 7:30am-8:00pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide patient services consistent with the Scope of Practice and Clinical Standards for the Diagnostic Sonographer.

  • Apply independent, professional, ethical judgment, and critical thinking to safely perform diagnostic sonography procedures.

  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA) and facility policies, and procedures.

  • Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information to ensure that the sonography examination order is complete, contains relevant information, and meets the standard of “medical necessity.”

  • Evaluate patient contraindications, insufficient patient preparation, and the patient’s inability or unwillingness to tolerate the examination and associated procedures. Identify and document any limitations to the sonography examination.

  • Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infections disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures.

  • Communicate with the patient in a manner appropriate to the patient’s ability to understand.

  • Use proper patient positioning tools, devices, equipment adjustment, and ergonomically correct scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort and safety, and musculoskeletal injury to the sonographer.

  • Review examination images, synthesize examination results, and prepare the preliminary findings.

  • Refer specific diagnostic, treatment or prognosis questions to the appropriate physicians or healthcare professionals.

  • Acquire additional ultrasound imaging to facilitate optimum diagnostic results for the interpreting physician, as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, preferred.

  • 2+ years’ experience in sonography.

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in Abdomen and OB/GYN (Or eligible for OB/GYN Certification (or obtained within 12 months of hire)).

  • State sonographer licensure, OBMI, required for Oregon.

  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Able to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

  • Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, AthenaOne, and other relevant software applications.

  • Excel in a fast-paced work environment, thriving under pressure and time constraints.

  • Vaccinated against COVID-19, Hepatitis B., MMR, PPD, Varicella (Chickenpox), and TD/TDAP.

  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from a recognized and reputable organization (e.g., American Heart Association, Red Cross) or the ability to obtain one within 1 month of hire.

  • Other Compensation: May be eligible for other compensation such as bonuses

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Frequent walking, sitting, standing, and reaching overhead.

  • Occasional crouching, kneeling, and bending.

  • Prolonged periods of standing/sitting and working at a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at time.

  • Ability to move to a different clinic location based on business needs.

  • Patient volume may often require more than your scheduled hours per week or work outside of regular business hours to complete essential duties of this job.

  • Occasional reaching and lifting of small objects and operating office equipment.

  • Ability to adjust focus between close and distance vision.

  • Exposure to sensitive and confidential information.

  • Ability to be fit tested and wear a respirator, when required.
