Job summary

Montclair Breast Center in Montclair, NJ is seeking an Ultrasound Technician (Sonographer) to perform ultrasound examinations, calibrate equipment, and document findings for radiologists. Per diem, part-time, or full-time positions are available to support a busy clinic.

You will work with Radiologists and a clinical team, maintain equipment, and participate in quality assurance to ensure accurate imaging and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Current State License to practice ultrasound.
• ARRT registry or ARDMS certification.
• Specialized training and certificates in breast ultrasound.
• Average of 5 continuing education credits per year focused on breast ultrasound.

Responsibilities

• Use sonographic equipment to identify and observe areas of concern.
• Prepare exam room and assist Radiologists with ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-guided biopsies.
• Report abnormalities to medical staff for immediate attention.
• Maintain sonography equipment and report machinery failure.
• Conduct scan tests.
• Manage several patients and priorities and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
• Work under minimal supervision and cooperate with other team members.
• Quality Assurance on equipment.

Job description

Job Summary:

Montclair Breast Center is seeking an Ultrasound Technician, or Sonographer, responsible for using ultrasound equipment to help visualize internal anatomy functions. Their duties include calibrating and manipulating ultrasound equipment to conduct appointments, taking pictures or videos of potential abnormalities and discreetly notifying medical personnel if they identify something concerning.

Montclair Breast Center is seeking a per diem, part-time, or full-time ultrasound technician.

Essential Functions:

• Use sonographic equipment to identify and observe the area(s) of concern
• Prepare the exam room for examinations and assist Radiologists with ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-guided biopsies
• Report to the appropriate medical staff of any abnormalities that require immediate attention
• Maintain sonography equipment and report machinery failure
• Conduct scan tests
• Manage several patients and priorities and be able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment
• Work under minimal supervision and cooperate with other team members
• Quality Assurance on equipment.

Qualifications:

• Current State License
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registry or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS)
• Specialized training (continuing education/certificates)
• Continuing education- this requirement specifies that an average of 5 ECE's/year be specific to breast ultrasound)
