Job summary

Montclair Breast Center is seeking an Ultrasound Technician, or Sonographer, to use ultrasound equipment to visualize internal anatomy and assist Radiologists with procedures.

This per diem, part-time, or full-time role requires a current State license and ARRT/RDMS certification, with specialized training in breast ultrasound. Duties include performing exams, reporting abnormalities, maintaining equipment, and supporting QA processes.

Qualifications

• Current State License to perform ultrasound.
• ARRT registry or RDMS certification required.
• Specialized training in breast ultrasound preferred.
• Continued education to include breast ultrasound content (ECEs).

Responsibilities

• Identify and observe areas of concern with ultrasound equipment.
• Prepare exam room and assist Radiologists with ultrasound procedures and biopsies.
• Report abnormalities requiring immediate attention to medical staff.
• Maintain and report issues with sonography equipment.
• Conduct scan tests and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate with team; work with minimal supervision.
• Perform quality assurance on equipment.

Education

Current State Ultrasound License

Continuing education (5 ECE/year for breast ultrasound)

Job description

Job Summary: Montclair Breast Center is seeking an Ultrasound Technician, or Sonographer, responsible for using ultrasound equipment to help visualize internal anatomy functions. Their duties include calibrating and manipulating ultrasound equipment to conduct appointments, taking pictures or videos of potential abnormalities and discreetly notifying medical personnel if they identify something concerning.

Montclair Breast Center is seeking a per diem, part-time, or full-time ultrasound technician.

Essential Functions:

The duties of an Ultrasound Technician:

• Use sonographic equipment to identify and observe the area(s) of concern
• Prepare the exam room for examinations and assist Radiologists with ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-guided biopsies
• Report to the appropriate medical staff of any abnormalities that require immediate attention
• Maintain sonography equipment and report machinery failure
• Conduct scan tests
• Manage several patients and priorities and be able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment
• Work under minimal supervision and cooperate with other team members
• Quality Assurance on equipment.

Qualifications:

• Current State License
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registry or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS)
• Specialized training (continuing education/certificates)
• Continuing education- this requirement specifies that an average of 5 ECE’s/year be specific to breast ultrasound)
