Job summary

Montclair Breast Center is seeking an Ultrasound Technician (Sonographer) to perform breast ultrasound exams and assist radiologists with ultrasound-guided procedures. The role includes preparing exam rooms, operating ultrasound equipment, and reporting abnormalities to the medical team.

Per diem, part-time, or full-time availability is offered. Qualified candidates hold a current state license and ARRT RDMS or equivalent certification, with ongoing breast ultrasound CE requirements.

Qualifications

• Current State License to practice ultrasound.
• ARRT RDMS certification or equivalent.
• Specialized training with relevant certificates.
• Breast ultrasound CE requirements (5 ECE/year).

Responsibilities

• Identify areas of concern using ultrasound equipment.
• Prepare exam rooms and assist radiologists with ultrasound procedures and biopsies.
• Report abnormalities to medical staff for immediate attention.
• Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment.
• Conduct scan tests.
• Manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate with team and operate with minimal supervision.
• Quality assurance on equipment.

Job description

Montclair Breast Center is seeking an Ultrasound Technician, or Sonographer, responsible for using ultrasound equipment to help visualize internal anatomy functions. Their duties include calibrating and manipulating ultrasound equipment to conduct appointments, taking pictures or videos of potential abnormalities and discreetly notifying medical personnel if they identify something concerning.

Montclair Breast Center is seeking a per diem, part-time, or full-time ultrasound technician.

Essential Functions

The duties of an Ultrasound Technician:

• Use sonographic equipment to identify and observe the area(s) of concern
• Prepare the exam room for examinations and assist Radiologists with ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-guided biopsies
• Report to the appropriate medical staff of any abnormalities that require immediate attention
• Maintain sonography equipment and report machinery failure
• Conduct scan tests
• Manage several patients and priorities and be able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment
• Work under minimal supervision and cooperate with other team members
• Quality Assurance on equipment.

Qualifications

• Current State License
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registry or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS)
• Specialized training (continuing education/certificates)
• Continuing education- this requirement specifies that an average of 5 ECE’s/year be specific to breast ultrasound)
