Job summary

Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist II PRN. Under general supervision, you will perform and document diagnostic ultrasound procedures and gather information about organs, fluids, and fetal health.

Qualifications include ARDMS Abdomen and OB/GYN, current BLS, AMA-approved radiologic technology training, ultrasound program completion, and at least one year acute care hospital experience.

• Completion of accredited Ultrasound Tech Program or equivalent
• High school graduate or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Performs and records diagnostic ultrasound procedures under general supervision.
• Obtains information about internal organs, fluids, disease diagnosis, and prenatal exams.
• Ensures ultrasound tests are of diagnostic quality and records results.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Under general supervision, and according to general policies and procedures, the Ultrasound Technologist II performs and records diagnostic ultrasound procedures. Obtains information about internal organs, fluid accumulations, disease diagnosis, study of malfunction of organs, prenatal examination of fetuses and placenta, amongst others. Ensures that ultrasound tests are of diagnostic quality and records results.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current Registration in American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, certified in Abdomen and OB/GYN specifically required
• Current BLS certification
• Must be a high school graduate or equivalent (GED)
• Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic training in an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology
• Completion of an accredited Ultrasound Tech Program or equivalent
• Minimum of 1-year acute care hospital experience required
