Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound studies of carotid, peripheral, venous, arterial systems and related plethysmographic testing. Role includes preliminary interpretation and timely communication to referring physicians.

Hours are Thursday and Friday 9a-5:30p, Saturday 7a-3:30p; ARDMS certification and 1–3 years' experience required, with EPIC and GE PACS proficient workflow management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Program.
• Registered Specialty with the ARDMS.
• 1–3 years clinical ultrasound experience.
• Requires 30 CE credits per 3-year rolling triennium to maintain active ARDMS status.
• Knowledge of B-Mode, M-Mode, color and pulse wave Doppler and 3D imaging.
• Ability to utilize EPIC medical information system.
• Ability to utilize GE PACS.
• Ability to utilize Trophon disinfection systems.
• Workstation/PC operational knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and quality diagnostic studies; correlate with contrast angiography/CT scan/MR/operative findings/patient outcome.
• Interact with and educate referring physicians; ensure proper exams are ordered for shorter length of stay and efficient technologist workflow.
• Review diagnostic findings with Tech/Med Director; ensure all exam reports are issued within 24–48 hrs and support excellent customer satisfaction.
• Maintain adherence to imaging workflow in EPIC and GE PACS; track exams and verify labeling and orientation.
• Maintain equipment and general lab appearance with minimal downtime and professional appearance.
• Stock supplies; maintain par stock and ensure supplies are on hand as needed.
• Retrieve linen from laundry; ensure availability as needed.
