Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center seeks an experienced Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist to perform transthoracic and stress echocardiography, including contrast, and assist in transesophageal and invasive echo procedures. The role covers outpatient sites and hospital echo labs.

The candidate should have a registered cardiac sonographer credential, at least 6 months of acute care hospital experience, and a CAAHEP-certified program; BLS required with ongoing CE credits.

Qualifications

• Registered Cardiac Sonographer with 6+ months hospital experience in an acute care setting.
• Completion of a CAAHEP certified cardiovascular sonography program preferred.
• BLS certification is required.
• Requires 30 CE credits per 3-year rolling period to maintain active status.
• Knowledge of Philips ultrasound systems and related software applications.
• Experience with data entry and Epic workflows.
• Solid understanding of ultrasound physics, cardiac anatomy and physiology.
• Experience with stress echoes, transesophageal echoes, and echo-guided invasive procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform various cardiac ultrasound modalities including transthoracic and stress echocardiography, with contrast as needed.
• Assist in transesophageal echocardiography and invasive echo procedures.
• Prepare preliminary findings, transmittal of studies, and bedside echoes across multiple sites.

Overview

For positions that have only a rate listed, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but could be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors.

Responsibilities

• The registered Ultrasound Technologist performs various modalities of cardiac ultrasound, including Transthoracic echo, stress (exercise and pharmacological) echo, including Echo with contrast; assistance in transesophageal echo and assistance in echo guided invasive procedures.
• Responsibilities include preparation of preliminary findings reports, study transmittal and Perform Bedside Echoes and coverage of various outpatient satellite sites and hospital echo labs.

SCHEDULE:8:30 AM-5 PM. Days vary. This position will require coverage at other hospital locations and outpatient practices per operational need.

Requirements

• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS OR RDCS) with at least 6 months hospital experience as an Echo tech in an acute care setting required.
• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Completion of CAAHEP certified cardiovascular sonography program preferred.
• Must be BLS certified.
• Requires 30 CE credits per three-year rolling triennium to maintain active registered status.
• Knowledge of various Ultrasound Systems including, Phillips iE33, Phillips Epiq, Phillips CX-50 and SONOS 7500/5500.
• Knowledge of PC Computer for data entry, Celera, LifeImage, and Epic applications.
• Extensive knowledge of the principles of ultrasound physics and instrumentation of ultrasound systems, cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathology.
• Knowledge of exercise stress echo and pharmacological stress echo, transesophageal echo, and echo guided invasive procedures and sterile techniques and procedures required.
• Proficiency in operation of PC and use of Xcelera and Apollo.
