Job summary

South Sunflower County Hospital is seeking a Staff Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic sonography and related imaging procedures. The role requires ARRT registration and a Mississippi radiography license, with the ability to perform x-ray and CT procedures.

You will identify areas of concern, maintain equipment, and generate reports while coordinating outpatient scheduling in Radiology. The position includes after-hours call and a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in sonography from a CAAHEP-accredited program.
• ARRT registration and Mississippi radiography license.
• Ability to perform x-ray and CT procedures.

Responsibilities

• Have an associate degree in sonography, from an institution accredited by The CAAHEP, that prepares students to sit for the certification exam.

Staff Ultrasound Technologist Duties

• Use sonographic equipment to identify and observe the area(s) of concern
• Report to the appropriate medical staff of any abnormalities that require immediate attention
• Maintain sonography equipment and report machinery failure
• Conduct scan tests and write reports based on the results
• Schedule outpatient procedures for Radiology
• Manage several patients and priorities and be able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment
• Work under minimal supervision and cooperate with other team members
• Take Call for emergency procedures after working hours

Requirements

Ultrasound technologist at SSCH needs to be:

• ARRT Registered
• A Mississippi license to practice radiography.
• Able to perform x-ray and Ct procedures
• Ultrasound technologist must be a graduate with associate's or bachelor's degree in radiology from an accredited 2 year or 4 year college.

Hours

• Monday-Friday 7:30-3:30
• After hour call weekdays, weekends, and holidays
