Job summary

Maria Parham Health is seeking an Ultrasound Technician to perform abdominal, obstetric, vascular, neonatal, pelvic, breast, and small‑parts ultrasound studies for diagnostic interpretation by radiologists. The role includes equipment calibration, maintaining supplies, and delivering patient‑centered care across the lifespan.

The position offers a nonexempt, full‑time schedule with 8‑hour shifts, day hours, and an on‑call rotation. A sign‑on bonus of $8,000 is available for full‑time status.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or School of Radiology is required.
• Graduate of an accredited DMS program or ARRT/DMS certification is preferred.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform high‑quality abdominal, OB, vascular, neonatal, pelvic, breast and small‑parts ultrasound examinations for radiologist interpretation.
• Ensure proper equipment calibration and maintain an organized, well‑stocked work area.
• Provide patient care across the lifespan and act as a resource on scan accuracy and safety practices.

Education

Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or School of Radiology

Graduate of an accredited DMS program or ARRT/DMS certification

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire

How you’ll contribute

The Ultrasound Technician performs high‑quality abdominal, OB, vascular, neonatal, pelvic, breast, and small‑parts ultrasound examinations for accurate interpretation by the radiologist in the diagnosis of patient illness. This role ensures proper equipment calibration, maintains an organized work area and adequate supplies, and provides appropriate care to patients across the lifespan. The technologist serves as a clinical resource to physicians and staff regarding scan accuracy and appropriateness, participates in performance improvement and continuing education, and upholds regular, reliable attendance while adhering to safety and infection‑control standards.

What we’re looking for
Applicants should have

• Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or School of Radiology required.

• One (1) year of diagnostic medical sonography experience preferred

• Graduate of an accredited DMS program or ARRT/DMS certification

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire
