Job summary

Brooklyn Gastroenterology & Endoscopy in Brooklyn, NY seeks a Per Diem Ultrasound Tech - Sonographer to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations and assist physicians with interpretations. The role requires accreditation in diagnostic sonography, RDMS or equivalent credentials, and state licensure.

You will prepare patients, operate equipment, and maintain records in a hospital/clinical setting with EMR proficiency.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program.
  • Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent credential.
  • Valid state licensure or certification as required by the state of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients according to established protocols and physician orders.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly and reporting any malfunctions.
  • Analyze images for quality and accuracy, documenting findings and assisting physicians with preliminary interpretations.
  • Maintain detailed patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to discuss findings and contribute to patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Stay current with advances in ultrasound technology and best practices through continuing education and training.

We are excited to announce that we are looking for a Per Diem, Ultrasound Tech - Sonographer at Brooklyn Gastroenterology & Endoscopy in Brooklyn, NY.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program.
  • Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent credential.
  • Valid state licensure or certification as required by the state of employment.
  • Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate ultrasound equipment and perform diagnostic imaging procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in specialized ultrasound areas such as abdominal sonography.
  • Additional certifications in specialty areas (e.g., RVT, RDCS).
  • Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting with diverse patient populations.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and imaging software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience in patient education and support.
