Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Tech to perform diagnostic ultrasound exams and invasive procedures. The role requires familiarity with cross-sectional anatomy, patient care across all ages, and effective communication with radiologists and staff.

Graduate of an AMA-approved Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or JRCERT accreditation is required. ARDMS registration within 6 months is expected; vascular credentials are desired.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training or equivalent as per IAC.
• Minimum experience: none.
• Must achieve ARDMS registration within 6 months of employment; vascular credentials (RVT/RVS/RT(S)/RT(VS)) within 6 months; breast ultrasound registration via ARRT (BS) acceptable.
• BLS certified. One year of experience preferred. Registered ARDMS and/or RVS/RVT desirable.

Responsibilities:

Ultrasound Tech, PRN, Piedmont Columbus Midtown

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices. Provides patient services utilizing ultrasound equipment. Demonstrates knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology. Provides patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics. Communicates effectively with staff and radiologists.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Graduate of an AMA approved Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or JRCERT accredited hospital based training program, or equivalent experience according to Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

None.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:

None ? Must become registered by the ARDMS within (6) months of employment. Vascular Sonographers must become registered and/or RVT, RVS, RT(S), RT(VS) within (6) months of employment. Licensure requirement for Breast Ultrasound can be met with registration through ARRT (BS).

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

BLS certified.
One (1) year of experience is preferred.
Registered ARDMS and/or RVS/RVT (Registered Vascular Specialist) is desired.
