Job summary

Tenet Healthcare is seeking an Ultrasound Technician specialized in obstetric and gynecologic imaging to support the Tenet Physician Resources team. The role requires performing OB/GYN ultrasound exams, explaining procedures to patients and ensuring equipment readiness and safety.

Applicants should have an approved Ultrasound Tech program and be registered or registry eligible, with at least 3 years of OB/GYN experience. CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nuclear medicine and registered or registry eligible as Ultrasound Technician.
• High school diploma/GED and completion of approved Ultrasound Tech program.
• 3 years of experience in OBGYN setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and perform obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound exams as directed by physicians.
• Explain exam procedures to patients and assist them into position for the exam.
• Maintain and sanitize ultrasound equipment and room; ensure safety procedures.
• Order supplies and monitor inventory; assist with other clinical functions as directed.

Job description

Prepare patients for examination and performs obstetric and gynecological ultrasound exams as directed by the physicians.

Adheres to and supports the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources.

Adheres to the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.

Demonstrates support for the Tenet Corporate Compliance Program by being knowledgeable of compliance responsibilities as expressed in the Code of Conduct; adhering to federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and corporate policies and procedures policies that affect his/her specific job functions/responsibilities; and reporting compliance issues/concerns in a timely and appropriate manner.

Understands and practices proper operation of ultrasound imaging equipment by evidence of observation and / or image documentation.

Explains exam procedures to patient, instruct and assist patient into position for exam.

Performs obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound exams as directed by the physician.

Implements safety procedures for patients, self and staff.

Maintains and clean ultrasound equipment and room

Orders supplies and monitor inventory

Handle physician requests in a timely manner and assist with other clinical functions as directed.

Education:

• Required: Graduate of an approved school of nuclear medicine and registered or registry eligible as Ultrasound Technician.
• High school diploma/GED and Completion of approved Ultrasound Tech program

Experience:

• 3 years of experience in OBGYN setting and knowledge of patient care methods, procedures, and techniques.

Certification:

• Required: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers certification, OBGYN Certification and Fetal Echocardiography Certification. CPR certification required.
• Preferred: CLEAR Certification for Cervical Length. NTQR Certification for Nuchal Translucency/Nasal bone
