Job summary

Baptist Hospitals of Southeast TX is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to provide ultrasonic diagnostic procedures per physician orders and protocols, with a focus on patient safety and high-quality testing in a Sacred Work environment.

Graduate from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with ARDMS registration within 90 days, and BLS within 90 days. Collaborate with radiologists, enter data into PACS/RIS, and support QC/PI activities for ACR accreditation.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program.
• ARDMS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Proficiently perform ultrasound procedures in the department and other areas.
• Maintain all policy and procedures in sterilizing transducers.
• Act collaboratively with radiologist staff to provide data and communicate with technical and medical staff.
• Participate in QC/PI activities and maintain ACR Accreditation.

Education

Graduate from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program

ARDMS Certification within 90 days

BLS Certification within 90 days

Summary/Objective

The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for the provision of ultrasonic diagnostic procedures to patients according to physicians orders and protocols. This Clinical position requires skills and experience in providing patient safety and providing high quality testing. The Ultrasound Technologist must support the mission of providing Sacred Work to all who enter the doors of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas.

• Proficiently perform ultrasound procedures in the department and other areas and utilize Infection Control principles when performing exams.
• Maintain all policy and procedures in sterilizing transducers
• Act collaboratively with radiologist staff to provide appropriate procedure data and communicate effectively with technical and medical staff.
• Participate in QC/PI activities and work within the guidelines set forth to maintain ACR Accreditation.
• Appropriately and completely enter all required date into PACS/RIS.
• Participate in clinical oversight of student trainees.

Required Education and Experience

Graduate from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program

Required License/Certifications

Current registration with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Certification (ARDMS) within 90 days

Basic Life Support certification (BLS) within 90 days
