Job summary

Baptist Hospitals of Southeast TX is seeking a Registered Radiology Tech for per diem/flex shifts in Beaumont, TX. You will perform radiographic and fluoroscopy exams, ensure patient safety, and support physician procedures with radiologic imaging per physician orders and protocols.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Current ARRT certification within 90 days.
• Licensed by the Texas Medical Board (TMB).
• BLS certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiography and portable exams proficiently and safely.
• Possess knowledge of anatomy and sterile techniques as they relate to radiographic studies.
• Apply ALAR radiation safety principles to minimize repeats and use safety devices.
• Complete data entry in PACS/RIS including histories, dose history, and reviews orders/consents.
• Perform fluoroscopy procedures proficiently and assist with sterile trays and fluoro exams.
• Perform radiography in C-arm operations in surgery.
• Participate in clinical oversight of student trainees.

Summary/Objective

The Registered Radiology Tech is responsible for accurately and efficiently performing Imaging exams according to physicians order and protocols. This Clinical position requires skills and experience in imaging and knowledge of the anatomy. The Registered Radiology Tech must support the mission of providing Sacred Work to all who enter the doors of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas.

• Perform radiography and portable exams proficiently and safely.Must possess basic knowledge of anatomy, skeleton, gastrointestinal, pulmonary and other systems and have knowledge of sterile techniques as it relates and applies to radiographic studies.
• Apply principles of radiation safety in all areas of use applying the ALAR concept; minimizing repeats, using safety devices, etc.
• Completes data entry in both PACS/RIS including histories, fluoro time documentation, contrast documentation, patient dose history and thoroughly reviews orders and consents as applicable.
• Perform fluoroscopy procedures proficiently and is competent in setting up sterile trays and assisting physician with fluoro exams.
• Perform radiography proficiently in all areas including C-arm operations in surgery.
• Participate in clinical oversight of student trainees.

Required Education and Experience

Graduate from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

Required License/Certifications

Current certification with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) within 90 days

Must be licensed by the Texas Medical Board (TMB)

Basic Life Support certification (BLS) within 90 days
