Job Responsibilities
  1. Operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment to perform general examinations, producing images for diagnostic and interventional purposes.
  2. Exercise good judgment in measurements and perform all computer processing for ultrasound examinations.
  3. Provide patient care and education before, during, and after procedures.
  4. Mentor less experienced ultrasound technologists as needed.
  5. Interact professionally with co-workers, visitors, and staff, aligning with Jefferson's values.
  6. Properly position patients and scan areas for interpretation by physicians or radiologists.
  7. Instruct patients regarding procedures to ensure cooperation and optimal results.
  8. Assemble patient information and images, then deliver to radiologists/physicians for review.
  9. Ensure safety standards are followed during equipment operation.
  10. Utilize and optimize software applications including PACS and maintain accurate patient records.
  11. Maintain ultrasound and lab equipment and examination rooms.
  12. Perform additional duties related to quality assurance and other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an approved course in medical sonography.
  • Active BLS Certification.
  • Clinical experience sufficient for registration with ARRT or ARDMS; ARDMS certification preferred.
