Job summary

Atrium Health in Georgia is seeking a diagnostic medical sonographer to join our Radiology team. You will examine requests, perform ultrasound studies, and verify orders for assigned patients, while assisting radiologists in invasive procedures and ensuring high-quality imaging.

You will maintain equipment and work areas, follow safety protocols, and participate in the Patient-Centered Care Philosophy. A comprehensive ultrasound program graduate with ARDMS/ARRT credentials and BLS is required to

Qualifications

Graduate of a comprehensive medical diagnostic ultrasound program.
Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development and patient population care.
BLS certification is required.
Certification by ARDMS or ARRT (S) is required.

Responsibilities

Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient.
Assists Radiologist in performing invasive procedures.
Evaluates technical quality of exam and develops superior varied technique for efficiency.
Supports Patient-Centered Care Philosophy by treating staff as Caregivers and meeting patient needs.
Reports malfunctioning equipment to the Assistant Director, Lead Sonographer or Engineer.
Operates the Radiology computer system, entering and charging exams and supplies.
Maintains work area clean and stocked; adheres to departmental rules and regulations.
