Job summary

USA Health in Mobile is seeking a dedicated Ultrasound Technician to perform diagnostic ultrasound exams. You will review histories, prepare patients, operate ultrasound equipment, and ensure high-quality imaging for accurate interpretations by physicians.

The role requires RDMS/RVT/RDS registry and an allied health background with hands-on ultrasound experience. Candidates must maintain safety standards and attend to patients with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years of allied health or patient care experience, 2 of which must have been full-time ultrasound experience.
• Completion of an allied health degree or 2 year training program from an accredited institution and 1 year of full-time ultrasound experience.
• Completion of an approved ultrasound training program.
• RDMS or RVT/RVS or RDCS/RCS registry required.

Responsibilities

• Review patient histories and clinical data to understand the reason for the exam and adapt imaging data.
• Explain procedures to patients and answer questions.
• Assist patients onto examination tables and positioning for imaging.
• Calibrate and adjust ultrasound equipment settings based on specific body part being imaged.
• Operate the transducer probe over the patient's body while monitoring the screen to ensure clear and comprehensive coverage.
• Take accurate anatomical measurements, recording physiological data, and logging procedure observations.
• Synthesize data into a preliminary report.
• Cleaning and sanitizing rooms and equipment in between patients.
• Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
• Regular and prompt attendance
• Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
