Job summary

Valley Health System is seeking an Ultrasound Technician to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced Ultrasound-Radiology department. The role involves collaborating with Radiologists and staff while adhering to scanning protocols and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has an accredited Sonography program, ARDMS certification, and BLS CPR. Experience preferred; AHA certification required before orientation.

Qualifications

  • Satisfactory completion of an accredited Sonography program.
  • 2 years of clinical diagnostic ultrasound experience preferred.
  • ARDMS Certification in at least 1 specialty required; BLS/HCP certification required.
  • Additional RDMS certification as accredited by ACR.
  • New hires must have AHA certification prior to orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures and provides high quality care for patients from neonatal to geriatric.
  • Produces diagnostic ultrasound images according to department protocols under Radiologist supervision.
  • Interacts with patients, physicians and staff in a professional and friendly manner.

Worker Sub Type Regular Work Shift First Shift (United States of America) Pay Range $35.30 - $52.95

The Ultrasound Tech performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures and provides high quality care for patients of all ages from neonatal to geriatric. Works in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment with reliance on your expertise, professionalism and collaboration. Produces diagnostic ultrasound images in accordance with department scanning protocols under the general supervision of a Radiologist. Interacts with patients, physicians and staff in a professional and friendly manner.

Education

Satisfactory completion of an accredited Sonography program.

Experience

(2) years of clinical diagnostic ultrasound experience is preferred.

Certification & Licensures

ARDMS Certification in at least (1) speciality required BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA approved required* Additional RDMS certification in which the department is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) in accordance with the accrediting body's guidelines. * New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology for accurate medical diagnosis as associated with ultrasound.
  • Competence in performing all types of general ultrasound procedures and services.
  • Ability to effectively operate all equipment utilized within the scope of a sonographer.
  • Accountability and attention to detail in the performance of duties.
  • Friendly and professional demeanor.
