Job summary

The Ultrasound Tech at Valley Health System performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures for patients from neonatal to geriatric, in a fast-paced Radiology department and under Radiologist supervision.

Requires an accredited Sonography program, ARDMS certification in at least one specialty, BLS, and 2 years of clinical ultrasound experience preferred; friendly, detail-oriented professionals who communicate well with staff and patients are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Sonography program.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical diagnostic ultrasound experience preferred.
• ARDMS certification in at least one specialty; BLS certification required; additional RDMS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures per department protocols.
• Produce high-quality ultrasound images.
• Interact professionally with patients, physicians and staff.
• Work under supervision of a Radiologist.

Job Description

The Ultrasound Tech performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures and provides high quality care for patients of all ages from neonatal to geriatric. Works in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment with reliance on your expertise, professionalism and collaboration. Produces diagnostic ultrasound images in accordance with department scanning protocols under the general supervision of a Radiologist. Interacts with patients, physicians and staff in a professional and friendly manner.

Education

Satisfactory completion of an accredited Sonography program.

Experience

(2) years of clinical diagnostic ultrasound experience is preferred.

Certification & Licensures

ARDMS Certification in at least (1) speciality required BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA approved required* Additional RDMS certification in which the department is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) in accordance with the accrediting body's guidelines. * New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.

Qualifications

Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology for accurate medical diagnosis as associated with ultrasound.

Competence in performing all types of general ultrasound procedures and services.

Ability to effectively operate all equipment utilized within the scope of a sonographer.

Accountability and attention to detail in the performance of duties.

Friendly and professional demeanor.
