Job summary

Mission Trail Baptist Hospital is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonography professional to perform ultrasound exams under licensed physician direction. You will contribute to accurate diagnostics across age groups from newborn to elderly and support the clinical team with high-quality imaging.

Qualified candidates will have a graduate certificate or degree in sonography, ARDMS/ARRT certification, and an active BLS credential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• ARDMS or ARRT certification required for Sonography.
• Active Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Produces high quality diagnostic sonographs by operating appropriate equipment.
• Evaluates images for technical quality and proper identification.
• Assists with procedures and adheres to aseptic techniques as required by state policy.
• May prepare or administer contrast media as prescribed by licensed practitioner.

Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, performs basic diagnostic ultrasound procedures, as requested by a licensed physician. Exercises professional judgment in providing health care services, to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly. May be multi-credentialed in the area of sonography. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Produces high quality diagnostic sonographs, by selecting and operating appropriate sonographic equipment
• Evaluates images for technical quality, assuring proper identification and procedure is recorded, assists practitioner with sonography, and uses high frequency sound waves for the purpose of diagnostic images
• Practices aseptic techniques as necessary, understands methods of venipuncture and other sterile techniques in agreement with state statutes and/or where institutional policy permits,
• Prepares, identifies and/or administers contrast media as prescribed by a licenses practitioner.
• Assists with amnio procedure biopsies if required.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of a school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Associates Degree
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 2-5 years in Diagnostic Sonography
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Must be registered with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiology Technologist in Sonography (ARRT).
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:
REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
