Job summary

BSA Hospital in Amarillo, TX is seeking a Ultrasound Technologist for variable-shift PRN coverage. You will perform abdominal, OB, Gyn, pediatric ultrasounds and assist with invasive procedures, operating imaging equipment safely and delivering high-quality images.

Requirements: ARRT(R) or ARDMS, BLS within 14 days of hire, and an Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology; two years of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• ARRT(R) or ARDMS certification required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
• Two years of related ultrasound experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform abdominal, small parts, OB, Gyn, and pediatric ultrasounds and invasive procedures.
• Operate sonography equipment and generate high-quality images.
• Maintain image quality and provide guidance during invasive procedures.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort; prepare exam rooms and supplies.
• Communicate effectively with patients and medical staff.
• Adhere to safety and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Ability to perform all abdominal and small parts, OB, Gyn, and pediatric ultrasounds as well as invasive procedures.
• Operate sonography equipment to produce images of specified areas of the body and perform related technical functions utilizing ultrasound imaging principles.
• Demonstrate the technical skills necessary to provide outstanding image quality for all abdominal and small parts, OB /Gyn, and pediatric ultrasounds.
• Exhibit knowledge and skills for providing imaging guidance during invasive procedures.
• Perform imaging in accordance with recommended safe patient practices.
• Prepare exam rooms, equipment, supplies, and medications.
• Provide safe patient care and excellent customer service to all patient populations.
• Possess excellent critical thinking skills along with the ability to work in a high-volume and fast-paced environment.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, physicians, and in intra- and inter-departmental situations.
• Additional responsibilities as designated by the Diagnostic Imaging leadership team.

Qualified Candidates

• Job Requirements: ARRT (R) or ARDMS.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements

• Two (2) years of related experience.
• Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology.
