Job summary

BSA Health System in Amarillo, TX seeks a day shift Ultrasound Supervisor to lead the ultrasound department and coordinate daily operations.

You will oversee scheduling, staffing, and equipment maintenance while ensuring compliance with standards and promoting excellent patient care. Collaboration with physicians and Diagnostic Imaging leadership is essential.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in either sonography or radiologic technology.
  • ARDMS or ARRT (S) or ARRT (R) + MRT
  • Must obtain ARDMS within 1 year of employment.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the daily operations of the ultrasound department to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
  • Manage patient scheduling, call rotation, staffing assignments, and vacation planning to maintain workflow coverage.
  • Ensure all ultrasound equipment is properly maintained, functioning, and documented according to standards.
  • Assist in ensuring supplies, protocols, and documentation are up to date and aligned with best practices.
  • Serve as liaison between staff, physicians, and Diagnostic Imaging leadership to promote communication and service excellence.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and ensure safety, quality, and patient-experience standards are met.

Responsibilities
  • The Ultrasound Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily operations of the ultrasound department to ensure safe, efficient, and high ‑ quality patient care.
  • This role manages patient scheduling, call rotation, staffing assignments, and vacation planning to maintain consistent workflow coverage and meet departmental demand.
  • The supervisor ensures all ultrasound equipment is properly maintained, functioning, and documented according to regulatory and departmental standards.
  • In addition to supporting technologists during ultrasound procedures, the Ultrasound Supervisor assists in ensuring that supplies, protocols, and procedural documentation are accurate, up to date, and aligned with best practices.
  • This position serves as a liaison between staff, physicians, and Diagnostic Imaging leadership to promote strong communication, service excellence, and a positive team culture.
  • The supervisor provides day ‑ to ‑ day guidance to the ultrasound team, supports performance expectations, and helps maintain compliance with safety, quality, and patient ‑ experience standards within BSA Health System.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by Diagnostic Imaging leadership to support departmental and organizational goals.
Qualifications
