Job summary

Olmsted Medical Center in Rochester, MN seeks an Ultrasound Supervisor to oversee routine and specialized imaging, develop schedules, and ensure QA and accreditation processes are properly implemented.

The role requires ARDMS certification and five years of ultrasound experience, with supervisor/lead experience preferred; BLS certification is also expected. Competitive benefits and starting pay are offered.

Qualifications

  • Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).

Responsibilities

  • Supervises ultrasound personnel performing routine and specialized imaging procedures; plans work and resolves issues.
  • Participates in quality control programs to ensure reliability of testing and equipment; ensures compliance with regulations; coordinates ACR accreditation.
  • Designs work schedules for staff to maintain adequate ultrasound coverage.
  • Handles hiring, performance reviews, and staff development.

1.0 FTE - Day/Evening and weekend shifts
Starting Pay - $44.34 to $66.51 (based on experience)

Qualifications:

  • Ability to recognize subtle differences between healthy and pathological areas

Job Responsibilities:
  • Supervises the work of ultrasound personnel engaged in performing routine and specialized imaging procedures including planning ultrasound work, evaluating work performed, and handling procedural and technical problems.
  • Assists in development and implementation of quality control programs to ensure reliability of testing procedures, proper functioning of ultrasound equipment, and compliance with federal regulations; prepares and maintains applicable records. Coordinates and is responsible for the ACR accreditation for ultrasound.
  • Designs appropriate work schedules for subordinate employees and plans daily work assignments in order to maintain an adequate personnel complement for ultrasound efficiency.
  • Supervises various personnel functions including, but not limited to, interviewing, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers, and vacation schedules.
  • Develops process to maintain sufficient inventory of material supplies and equipment for performance of duties.
  • Moderates amount of lifting and positioning patients and equipment.
  • Ability to frequently lift objects heavier than 100 pounds.
  • Performs difficult manipulative skills.
  • Concentrates on fine details with constant interruption.
  • Attends to tasks for 45 to 60 minutes at a time.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Understands and relates to the concepts behind specific ideas.
  • Must multi-task.
  • Strong verbal skills required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
