Job summary

McPherson Hospital, Inc. seeks a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to produce high-quality ultrasound images and collaborate with the healthcare team for accurate patient diagnoses in outpatient, inpatient and clinic settings.

The role is full-time, dayshift, with opportunities to work across modalities, maintain equipment, ensure safety, and participate in shared call rotation within a supportive hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent formal training required.
• Minimal experience required; 2–3 years preferred.
• RDMS RVT(VT) required; OB/GYN, AB, AE preferred; KS Board of Healing Arts exempt if sonogram only; BLS.

Responsibilities

• Perform Ultrasound procedures using proper positioning and protocols for optimal diagnostic value in outpatient, inpatient and clinic settings.
• Proficient in or willing to learn procedures in multiple modalities to assure adequate workload coverage.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment; operate and identify malfunctions for patient and operator safety.
• Learn and maintain HIS, RIS and PACS systems to ensure timely, accurate patient records.
• Obtain proper patient identification and medical history for consistent care.
• Apply safety measures to comply with regulations and participate in evening/weekend call rotations.
