Job summary

Beartooth Billings Clinic is seeking an Ultrasound Sonographer in Red Lodge, MT for full-time day shifts. The role involves performing diagnostic ultrasound, explaining procedures to patients, and assisting radiologists in image interpretation.

The ideal candidate will have ARDMS RDMS credentials (or eligibility), Doppler physics understanding, and current CPR certification. Experience and on-the-job training are acceptable where formal programs are unavailable.

Qualifications

  • Graduate, or minimum of one year completion of a diagnostic medical sonography program.
  • On-the-job training and experience equivalents will be considered in lieu of completion of a diagnostic medical sonography program for staff who obtained their training prior to the availability of formal training programs and who are currently registered with the ARDMS.
  • Current registration with ARDMS or meets the requirements as a candidate to sit for the ARDMS boards.
  • Board registry in physics and abdomen, and/or OB/GYN or echocardiography as appropriate to department/service needs.
  • Fundamental understanding of doppler physics. Current specialty certifications as appropriate to department/service line will be required within one year of employment
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) – encompassing diagnostic medical sonography with subspecialties in abdomen, breast sonography, neurosonography, obstetrics and gynecology, and small parts.
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and RVT (vascular)

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures.
  • Interview patients, explain procedures, and assist in positioning for examinations.
  • Review test results with radiologists and referring physicians.

Ultrasound Sonographer

Status:Full Time (30+ hours/week) – Non-Exempt

Reports to:Laboratory and Radiology Manager

Purpose and Scope of Position

This position is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging services in the specialty of Ultrasound. The Ultrasound Tech is responsible for the operation of a variety of equipment to produce images of the patient’s body for diagnostic purposes. The Ultrasound Technologist may provide instruction to Ultrasound interns. Interviews patients, explains procedures, and assists in positioning the patient for procedures. Reviews test results with the radiologists and referring physicians.

  • Current Health Care Provider CPR Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) – encompassing vascular sonolgraphy and physiologic testing
