Pay range: $31.65-$51.29 per hour (based on direct and relevant experience).
The position: Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist (part‑time, Monday‑Friday 4:00 pm‑8:00 pm, no weekends or call). You will operate assigned sonography scanners to produce diagnostic images of the patient’s body and provide excellent customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sonography Imaging (90%)
- Screens patients before exam for precautions or contradictions using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure.
- Explains and prepares patients for sonography imaging procedures, positioning patients appropriately.
- Performs routine and advanced sonography imaging procedures with minimal supervision, providing patient support throughout.
- Adjusts sonography scan parameters correctly as needed.
- Follows physician orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Maintains an orderly and clean work area, sanitizing equipment, to promote patient and team safety.
- Maintains the American College of Radiology (ACR) toolkit and accreditation requirements.
Sonography Department Support (5%)
- Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
- Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary.
- Assist with training of new team members, providing technical expertise.
Other Duties as Assigned (5%)
- Complete other tasks and projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited sonography program, or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
- Registered American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) sonographer, current and in good standing.
- Sonography certification in imaging specialty (AB, BR, OB‑GYN, etc.).
- Licensed sonographer in the appropriate state (if applicable).
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Required training and experience to perform sonography procedures independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- OSHA Class I bloodborne pathogens exposure certification.
- Bilingual.
