Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist Lead to provide clinical and operational leadership for the ultrasound department, performing advanced procedures, overseeing workflow, and supporting training and quality control.

The role collaborates with the Imaging Director and Radiologists to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement across ultrasound operations. Regular attendance and adherence to policies are expected.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
• Prior lead or supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads daily ultrasound department operations and staffing.
• Performs routine and complex ultrasound exams with radiologist notes.
• Serves as a technical resource for protocols and equipment.
• Oversees onboarding, training and clinical instruction.
• Collaborates to develop scanning protocols and procedures.
• Manages quality control and regulatory compliance (ACR).
• Ensures equipment functionality and coordinates maintenance.
• Tracks productivity and RIS charge capture accuracy.
• Monitors PACS and resolves imaging discrepancies.
• Maintains a clean, safe imaging environment and infection control.
