Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center seeks an RN to join the Vascular Access Service. The role supports ultrasound-guided catheter placement for inpatients and outpatients, with emphasis on safety and quality care.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, plan development with the care team, and education of patients and families. Experience with ultrasound-guided IV access is preferred; Magnet-certified hospital background a plus.

Qualifications

• Nursing licensure required (RN)
• Experience with vascular access and patient education is preferred
• Ultrasound-guided IV placement training is a plus

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centred care in a healing environment.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Develops and documents care plans with goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
• Assesses physical, psychosocial, emotional needs and patient preferences.
