Candidates must meet federal education and experience requirements, including specialized ultrasound experience and appropriate radiology credentials; DHA recruitment may apply and salary pools are based on federal pay scales.

Qualifications

  • Specialized Experience: One year operating a digital X-ray system to take ultrasound and fluoroscopy-related images; assist radiologist.
  • Education: Master’s or equivalent graduate degree in radiology/radiography or 2 years of progressively higher level study.
  • Combination of Education and Experience may be used to meet requirements with 100% total percentage.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor patients' vital signs and notify radiologist of significant changes.
  • Assist radiologists and higher grade technologists in more complex procedures.
  • Observe and report patient responses to instructions, movement, or touch.
  • Perform operator level maintenance of ultrasound equipment, e.g., changing transducers.
  • Enter data and maintain records of radiologic and ultrasonographic studies.
  • Review and recommend new developments to improve section operations.
