Bedford Commons OB-GYN is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our clinical team in Bedford, NH. The role involves performing ultrasound procedures, educating patients, and supporting physicians in ultrasound-guided procedures across our offices in Bedford, Derry, Londonderry, and Windham.

Qualifications

• Must hold current/valid certification in diagnostic ultrasound.
• Completed an accredited ultrasonography educational program.
• Maintain or be eligible for ARDMS certification.
• Evidence of continuing education credits to fulfill accreditation requirements.
• OBGYN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for ultrasound examination.
• Prepares patients for physicians.
• Explains procedures to patient prior to testing and provides education related to medical ultrasound.
• Explains procedures to assure cooperation and optimum test results.
• Ensures consent and/or declinations are obtained.
• Conducts ultrasonic diagnostic procedures and records data for interpretation by a physician.
• Assists physician during invasive procedures requiring ultrasound guidance.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and records.
• Codes services performed and submits billing worksheets daily.

Job description

Ultrasonographers - OBGYN

We are searching for a diagnostic medical sonographer to join our clinical team at Bedford Commons OB-GYN. The diagnostic medical sonographer works with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients.

Duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Prepares patients for ultrasound examination.
• Prepares patients for physicians.
• Explains procedures to the patient prior to the commencement of the testing and provides patient education related to medical ultrasound.
• Explains procedures to assure cooperation and optimum test results.
• Ensures the appropriate consent and\/or declinations are obtained.
• Conducts ultrasonic diagnostic procedures and records anatomical, pathological and\/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
• Assists physician during invasive procedures requiring ultrasound guidance.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Maintains patient charts and records, and records and processes sonographic data and other pertinent observations made during the procedure for presentation to the interpreting physician.
• Code appropriately for services performed; submit completed billing work sheets daily.
• Maintains proper operation of the ultrasound equipment. Recognizes equipment malfunctions and takes appropriate corrective action.
• Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies.
• Maintain archives\/records scans.
• Maintains effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
• Acts in a non-directive, non-judgmental manner, recognizing an individual’s religious, ethical, and moral opinions\/beliefs.
• Comply with safety and security training and OSHA standards\/regulations.
• Participates in staff development, in-service workshops and educational activities.
• Participates in professional development activities and meetings.
• Maintains professional affiliations.
• Help to foster a "team approach" with co-workers throughout the Practice to benefit the entire organization and best serve the patients\' needs.
• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with the practice Attendance Policy.
• Other duties assigned by manager(s)

Qualifications And Experience

• An individual must possess a current\/valid certification in diagnostic ultrasound.
• Satisfactory completion of an approved accredited ultrasonography educational program.
• Maintain or be eligible for certification the American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
• Must provide evidence of continuing education credits to fulfill accreditation requirements.
• OBGYN experience preferred

Working Schedule

Office hours are Monday-Friday from 7am-4pm. Shift start, and end times may flex based on schedule and location.

Locations in: Bedford, Derry, Londonderry, and Windham. Person hired for position may rotate to all offices.
