Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Canoga Park, CA is seeking an Ultrasonic Inspector Level 2 to support propulsion components for NASA, Military, and Commercial contracts. The role operates under a 9/80 schedule, with training on first shift and duties across ferrous and nonferrous materials using immersion and contact ultrasonic equipment.

The inspector will verify compliance with fracture control requirements, interpret oscilloscope readings, record results, and determine defect acceptability.

Qualifications

• Must have a current Ultrasonic LII certification.
• Minimum two years aerospace UT experience.
• Able to run a UT Immersion system.

Responsibilities

• Plan methods and select ultrasonic equipment for inspecting ferrous/nonferrous materials and components subject to high stress or conditions.
• Set up and operate immersion and contact ultrasonic equipment to inspect machined parts and assemblies to exact tolerances.
• Follow manuals or develop procedures when standards are not specified; prepare materials for inspection and adjust equipment as needed.
• Monitor equipment and adjust sensitivity/attenuation to account for material variations; input data with computer-based systems.
• Inspect and interpret readings to identify flaws, determine acceptability, and record results; document findings.
• Accept or reject items per fracture control specs or customer requirements; order rework or sign off as acceptable.
