Job summary
Argonne National Laboratory is seeking an Assistant Scientist to advance time-resolved photoemission electron microscopy (TR-PEEM) and related ultrafast nanoscale imaging for nanomaterials and quantum materials. The role blends independent and collaborative research with strong support for CNM users.
The candidate will develop and lead TR-PEEM experiments, collaborate across CNM and Argonne, and contribute to strategic directions while publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting findings
Qualifications
- Expertise in time-resolved photoemission electron microscopy (TR-PEEM) or related ultrafast nanoscale imaging methods.
- Strong publication record in TR-PEEM, ultrafast microscopy, or related instrumentation.
- Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering or closely related field.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead an experimental program using TR-PEEM to study nanomaterials.
- Advance TR-PEEM methodologies for charge, spin, excitonic, and energy-transfer processes.
- Support operation, development, and scientific application of TR-PEEM systems.
- Provide scientific/technical support for user experiments and collaborations.
- Engage with internal/external researchers to advance nanoscale imaging research.
- Publish results and present findings at meetings and in journals.
