GENERAL FUNCTION

This role involves scheduling delivery, installation, and onsite training for new machinery, as well as providing on-site repairs, troubleshooting support, new equipment validation, and handling shipping and other shop activities.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform diagnostics and customer support via telephone and email with a high level of professionalism and customer service.
  • Understand all aspects of machinery design and operation for mechanical, electrical and pneumatics systems.
  • Understand the chemistry application process and interactions for our Coating solutions.
  • Perform on-site, field service repair work to support our products at customer locations including lab procedures such as tinting, surfacing issues and cleaning processes.
  • Responsible for delivery, installation and training of new equipment at the customer site.
  • Complete service reports, detailing machine service, process changes, and training while at customer’s location.
  • Prepare equipment for customer use and ensure proper operation of equipment through testing.
  • Schedule customer visits or repairs while maintaining travel expenses within divisional goals.
  • Repair and recondition used equipment and perform other shop responsibilities.
  • Attend, demonstrate, and provide information at optical trade shows.
  • Continually review and improve processes to simplify jobs, eliminate non-value-added tasks and reduce costs.
  • Maintain work area in a neat, clean, and organized condition.
  • Adhere to company and manufacturer policies, comply with attendance and safety rules, and maintain confidentiality of proprietary and HIPAA-protected information.
  • Assist others as necessary to keep work current, meet deadlines or maintain an even workload. Cooperate with other coworkers and demonstrate a good attitude. Perform an acceptable quantity and quality of work on time as required.
  • Provide proper training, work direction, and technical guidance for less experienced coworkers. Attend in-house or sponsored training meetings when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • This position is exposed to one or more hazardous substances/chemicals requiring safety training. Position requires regularly scheduled and unscheduled trips which may include travel outside the lower 48 states.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years work experience of a technical/mechanical nature.
  • Excellent aptitude in mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work on simultaneous projects.
  • Ability to manage high levels of direct interaction with our customers and be extremely focused on customer satisfaction.
  • Able to lift and/or move over 60 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job, including close vision and color vision.
  • Travel by automobile and airplane required, also outside of the US.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid passport and driver’s license, with insurable driving record
  • Candidate must be a US person, this is defined as an individual who is:
  • granted U.S. citizenship; or
  • granted U.S. permanent residence ("Green Card" holder); or
  • granted status as a "protected person" under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience and knowledge of ophthalmic laboratory operations preferred.

Pay Range: 26.11 -34.88

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package. Benefits may include health care, retirement savings, paid time off/vacation, and various employee discounts.
